Environment Consultancy Services

The environmental services that we offer at Alkhebra Consulting help industrial and public sector clients around the world balance growth with resiliency, achieving compliance and reducing, or eliminating, risks while protecting our natural environment. We are familiar with the Qatari Law No. 30 of 2002 promulgating the law of the environment in the State of Qatar and its executive bylaws in issued in 2005. Many of the articles of this law require specific permits and environmental management plans for certain construction projects which increased in numbers due to the demands of many projects especially those projects relevant to hosting the FIFA 2022 event in Qatar.

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) is a statutory requirement for most developmental and industrial activities in across the globe. Its purpose is to identify, examine, assess and evaluate the likely and probable impacts of a proposed project on the environment and, thereby, to work out remedial action plans to minimize adverse impact on the environment.

Alkhebra experts have vast knowledge and experience of providing EIA services and its purpose to identify impact of developmental activities on natural environment and provide advice on mitigation measures and management planning.

We are also experienced in conducting preliminary environmental feasibility studies on factual reports on geo-environmental investigation. Alkhebra has vast knowledge in developing, conducting and managing environmental management plans and ensure compliance during the construction and operational phases.

Alkhebra Consulting and associate partners have prepared Ecological Assessments (EA), Environmental Impact Reports (EIR), and Environmental Impact Statements (EIS) in the areas of oceanography, marine biology, fisheries, and endangered species usually as a support service to prime contractors that specialize in regulatory permitting and in preparing environmental documents. Internationally, we prepare Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) and conducts field studies, etc., as needed to support these assessment projects. Our services are particularly valuable where greater independent technical support, re-analysis of existing data, additional field studies, mitigation monitoring, or numerical modeling may be needed. These services often result in selection of better project alternatives and yield significant cost savings.

We also prepare ecological impact assessments in the areas of offshore oil exploration and development, Rigs-to-Reef programs, municipal waste water discharge, petroleum refinery discharges, coastal wetlands restoration, dredging, dredge material disposal, and disposal site designation. New methods for condensing and integrating information are often used to focus on important issues and establish credible criteria for assessments while increasing the reliability and interpretability of information.

Our EIA service can benefit the client in the following manner:

  • Environmental documentation
  • Ecological Assessment (EAs)
  • Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs)
  • Environmental Impact Statements (EISs)
  • Mitigation planning and monitoring
  • Literature reviews & secondary source data collection
  • Associated environmental liabilities are identified and quantified so that they can be managed.
  • Suggesting efficient pollution control measures.
  • Makes your project more environment friendly.

Environmental monitoring describes the processes and activities that need to take place to characterize and monitor the quality of the environment. Environmental monitoring is used in the preparation of environmental impact assessments, as well as to identify the changes in quality of natural environment due to human activities. Environmental monitoring may include physical parameters (room temperature, relative humidity, and air movement); chemical parameters (carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide (CO), respirable suspended particulates (PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), ozone (O3), formaldehyde (HCHO), total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), and radon (Rn)); and biological parameter such as bacteria, molds, mildew, house dust, viruses and airborne bacteria. Alkhebra experts have vast experience in providing Environmental Monitoring services and analyses of ambient air quality environment, water analysis environment, noise level, soil testing environment, biological environment, and Indoor/occupational air quality.

Alkhebra Consulting conducts environmental monitoring studies to document compliance with regulatory discharge standards, and field experimentation studies designed to elucidate the type and magnitude of ecological effects and predict impacts. We understand both the appropriate applications and limitations of the interpretability of the data. Alkhebra associates are skilled at assisting clients in determining the most important environmental questions. We are specially experienced in coordinating studies involving nearshore coastal ecosystems and offers a strong capability in coupling physical, geological, and biological disciplines in designing and implementing efficient environmental sampling plans.

Some of the monitoring services we provide are:

  • Indoor air & ambient air quality monitoring
  • Stack emission monitoring
  • Sound level monitoring
  • Pollution monitoring / effects analysis
  • Water and sediment quality studies
  • Ecological risk assessment
  • Marine and freshwater community analyses
  • Endangered species assessments
  • Biological inventories
  • Underwater photography and video surveys
  • Antifouling studies
  • Field experiments

Alkhebra experts have considerable experience in providing waste management and minimization solutions to clients and we have a network of technology providers to handle different types of wastes such as – municipal and biomedical, Recycling – waste water, paper, plastic, wood and integrated waste. We also offer renewable energy, consultancy and integrated environment services. Identification and quantification of waste streams and the selection of feasible yet environmentally friendly solutions and plans for solid waste management.

Constantly upgrading to the latest options in environmental sustainability is the theme of our action plan. Proper management of municipal and industrial waste is the key to minimizing the risks of contamination and pollution to health and the environment.

Alkhebra’s associates are experienced in environmental management planning and environmental compliance; including dredge spoil characterization, sediment sampling, NPDES permitting, regulatory compliance, and mitigation monitoring.  We have prepared environmental management plans for large military activities, private industry, and local government.

Disposal costs can be a significant portion of a dredging project.  Therefore, accurate characterization of material is imperative.  The dredge area should be characterized considering both vertical and horizontal boundaries of subunits.  This approach permits segregation of environmentally impaired material from benign material, resulting in lower disposal costs.

Sustainability offers solutions to the pressure facing business. It offers the means to ensure that the consequences of our decisions are positive, value-adding ones.

The primary objective of Environmental Sustainability Plan is to create a sustainable built environment that minimizes ecological impact while addressing the specific regional and environmental needs.

Sustainability Plan consists of a series of sustainable categories and criteria, each with a direct impact on environmental stress mitigation. Each category measures a different aspect of the project’s environmental impact. The categories define these broad impacts and address ways in which a project can mitigate the negative environmental effects. These categories are then broken down into specific criteria that measure and define individual issues. These issues range from a thorough review of water consumption to an assessment of light quality. Each criterion specifies a process for measuring individual aspects of environmental impact and for documenting the degree to which the requirements have been met. A score is then awarded to each criterion based on the degree of compliance.

Alkhebra experts enhances ways in which businesses can use sustainability to become stronger by cut carbon to cut cost, using new technologies to enhance performance, understanding your vulnerabilities and developing stronger schemes by adding social and economic value.

Alkhebra experts are vast in knowledge with GSAS (Global Sustainability Assessment System) certification accredited by GORD who provides sustainability assessment study for various construction study to execute GSAS operations and facilitates for clients and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental design) operations for facilitation to clients on achieving target credits for certifications.
