Alkhebra Consulting is proud to collaborate with Coastal Environments (CE) of the USA. CE is committed to offering the best and most efficient oceanographic, coastal engineering, and environmental consulting services in the industry. To meet this goal, we navigate among interrelated disciplines including engineering, physical oceanography, hydrology, marine biology, climate science, coastal geology, planning, permitting and communications to facilitate cost-effective solutions. We are dedicated to the success of our projects – today, tomorrow and far into the future.
Our combined teams with Coastal Enviroments have extensive experience in physical oceanography. Our approach is to arrive at practical solutions, based on a comprehensive knowledge of physical processes. This requires an understanding of the forcing functions (i.e., waves, coastal currents, and tides) and site-specific parameters (i.e., marine geology, beach and shoreline factors, and longshore and cross-shore sediment transport). These services will include:
We provide coastal engineering and coastal processes services necessary to design coastal structures. In addition, we conduct feasibility studies for siting harbors and other coastal structures, including jetties and breakwaters. For example, comprehensive studies involving both lagoon circulation and inlet design have been successfully conducted by Coastal Environments in the USA. These lagoon and harbor projects also require an understanding of coastal processes, including sediment transport over the continental shelf and nearshore. Numerical modeling techniques are often used in our feasibility studies. These services will include:
We offer a wide variety of marine geological services in both coastal and offshore environments, including: beach and seafloor foundation investigations for piers, breakwaters, subsea pipelines; collection and analysis of marine sediments required for channel maintenance dredging and for development of harbors and marinas; evaluation of coastal erosion and sedimentation; investigation of sediment dynamics to support studies of marine pollution and water quality impacts associated with discharge of wastewater and to predict fates of materials; modeling of sediment behavior (e.g., turbidity, sedimentation, and resuspension) associated with dredging and disposal of sediments; and evaluation of seafloor mineral resources. These services will include:
The joint expertise of Alkhebra Consulting team with the team of Coastal Environments understand the importance of accurate data management, processing and analysis. We have extensive experience in time series, statistical and spectral analysis methods important to the interpretation of time series data, such as wave, current, and temperature measurements. Predictive numerical models and statistical models of circulation studies, shoreline changes, and structure loading have been developed at Alkhebra Consulting. Programming services also include statistical analysis of field and lab research data, and design and management of large databases which includes:
Teams of Alkhebra Consulting and Coastal Environments are skilled at preparing in depth reviews of the scientific literature and critiques of existing information on a wide variety of marine and coastal issues. We stay current with the technical literature and maintain extensive personal libraries of the published and unpublished literature. Coastal Environment has prepared reviews and critiques for regulatory agencies, industrial research institutes, utilities, and in support of litigation. We both have networks of collaborative colleagues who serve as technical advisors available to assist in the implementation of various field studies. Many of our colleagues are scientists experienced at preparing extremely focused studies, such as the effects of individual chemical pollutants to multidisciplinary studies, the concept of mitigation, or the effects of coastal oil spills. We also maintain a strong reputation for independent, unbiased critiques, and reviews of environmental issues which includes:
